Platform alternatives
A Gumroad alternative with 0% platform fees
Gumroad takes a flat cut of every sale you make, forever. PokeShani takes nothing. You connect your own PayPal, buyers pay you directly, and the money is yours the moment the sale completes.
What Gumroad costs you
Gumroad moved to a flat 10% platform fee: no monthly cost, but a permanent reduction on every order. On a small store that feels minor. On an actual business it compounds, and it never stops.
| Your monthly sales | Gumroad fee at 10% | PokeShani fee | Difference over a year |
|---|---|---|---|
| $500 | $50 | $0 | +$600 |
| $2,000 | $200 | $0 | +$2,400 |
| $5,000 | $500 | $0 | +$6,000 |
| $15,000 | $1,500 | $0 | +$18,000 |
Pricing changes. The figures above use Gumroad’s published 10% flat fee at the time of writing and exclude payment processing fees, which vary by platform and country. Always confirm current pricing on both platforms before you switch.
Where Gumroad is genuinely better than us
We will not pretend we win on everything. If these matter more to you than fees, stay where you are:
- It is merchant of record. Gumroad handles global VAT and sales tax compliance on your behalf. On PokeShani that responsibility sits with you, because the sale is directly between you and your buyer.
- It hosts your files. Gumroad stores and delivers your product. PokeShani expects you to bring an existing delivery link.
- It has built-in discovery. Gumroad has a browsable marketplace with real buyer traffic. PokeShani’s marketplace is smaller, so your own audience does more of the work.
- Buyers can pay by card. PokeShani runs payments through PayPal, so a buyer who will not use PayPal cannot complete checkout.
What PokeShani does differently
- 0% platform fees. You keep the full sale amount, less only PayPal’s standard processing fee.
- Payment goes straight to you. PokeShani never holds your money. No balance, no payout schedule, no minimum threshold, no transfer wait.
- You keep your current delivery method. Paste the access link you already use. Your product never has to move.
- No card processing on our side. PayPal owns the payment relationship, so no card data ever touches PokeShani.
Who this suits, and who it does not
A good fit if: you already have an audience, you sell through your own links and social posts, you are comfortable taking PayPal payments, and fees are eating your margin.
A bad fit if: you need card checkout, you want someone else to handle global tax, or you depend on platform discovery to find buyers for you.
How to move your products across

Start selling freeFrequently asked questions
Does PokeShani really take 0% of my sales?
Yes. PokeShani charges no platform fee, so you keep 100% of the sale price. PayPal still charges its standard processing fee for the transaction, exactly as it would on any other platform.
Do I need a verified PayPal account?
Yes. You need a verified PayPal account that can receive payments with no active limitations. If your account has restrictions, or cannot receive payments in your country, purchases will fail.
Can PokeShani host my product files?
No. You bring your own delivery link such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Notion, your own website, or another platform you already use. Buyers receive that link after payment.
When do I get paid?
Immediately. Payment goes directly to your PayPal account as part of the purchase, so PokeShani never holds a balance and there is no payout threshold or waiting period.
Can my buyers pay with a credit card instead of PayPal?
PayPal offers card funding to many buyers inside its own checkout, but the purchase still runs through PayPal. A buyer who refuses to use PayPal at all cannot complete checkout.
